Who should be screened for colorectal cancer?
The large intestine, also known as the colon, can be susceptible to polyps which can become cancerous. Colorectal cancer is deadly if not treated, or caught early enough. It is one of the leading cancers in the United States today. High risk patients include those with a family history of this disease, and those over the age of 50 – this is why your doctor starts recommending colonoscopies when your turn about this age.
A fecal occult blood test (FOBT) is one way to detect signs of this disease. Occult blood is blood located in the stool that is not visible to the naked eye and is a result of slow bleeding from the intestinal tract. This can occur long before colon cancer symptoms are present, which makes this disease one that is usually easily treatable.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry separately on low heat. Add QE Home Wool Dryer Balls to reduce wrinkles and increases drying efficiency. Touch up with a low heat iron as needed. Do not bleach or dry clean.
